There's a lot of things you'll need to know to be well-versed
in this RPG, this page is provided to get you on your way to
becoming a Digi-Destined!
----What is IRC?----
IRC is the program we will
be using to play in this RPG. IRC stands for "Internet Relay
Chat". It is a form of chat room, and last time I checked,
it's very similar to AOL chatrooms. It's very easy to use, and
as long as I'm there, I'll give you a hand on getting a feel
with IRC. To get IRC, simply go here: www.mirc.com.
Easy, right? ^^
Now it's time to connect!
#DigimonRPG is a channel found on esper.net. You'll need to manualy
add an esper.net server to your server list, but it's VERY easy
to do. With mIRC, first choose to add a server to your server
list, you'll see a dialogue box with blank text fields.
Enter one of these servers into the field :
dream.esper.net
chocobo.esper.net
adastra.esper.net
Once this is done, simply
hit the channel button, and join the channel #DigimonRPG !
Most of the time, the RPG's
server of choice will be chocobo.esper.net
you can connect to another esper.net server, but we try to all
be on the same server, so that we don't have to worry about lags
making the game more confusing! ^^
(Note:The port for most
IRC servers is 6667)
---Some IRC Stuff---
Registering nicks-use nickserv to register a nickname so that
I can verify you when you come on, to do this find a nickname
that isn't taken (nickserv will tell you in your status window
if you are using a registered name). Once you find one that you
like and isn't in use, register it by typing
/msg nickserv register <password>
The <password> field should be your password, something
you'll remember of course. ^^
To identify yourself, type /msg nickserv identify <password>
where <password> is your password again.
Once again, easy, right?
